Oracle Announces the Certification of the Oracle Database on Oracle Linux 6 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

I saw many Question at Oracle technical forum site which is related wiht when Oracle products such as Oracle database 11gR2 will certify with Oracle linux and Red Hat linux 6.

Yesterday, Oracle has been made an announcement the about Oracle products certifications status on Oracle Linux 6 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 platforms

- Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (R2) and Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 (R1) are immediately available on Oracle Linux 6 with the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel.

- Oracle Database 11g R2 and Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g R1 will be available on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6) and Oracle Linux 6 with the Red Hat Compatible Kernel in 90 days.

- Oracle offers direct Linux support to customers running RHEL6, Oracle Linux 6, or a combination of both.

- Oracle Linux will continue to maintain compatibility with Red Hat Linux.

- Effective immediately, Oracle will provide its Red Hat compatible Linux binaries, updates and errata for free

E-Business Suite 11i Upgrade to R12.1 (Third Edition)

Premier Support for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i ended in November 2010. Extended Support fees for EBS 11i have been waived for all three years, and you should now be using this time to plan your upgrade to EBS 12.1.3.

For can make upgrade EBS 12.1.3, you need to upgrade first EBS 12.1.1 than you need to apply R12.1.3 Patch 9239090.

For your E-Business Suite installation its strongly recommend to use lastest StartCD.The startCD updates are distributed to customers via My Oracle Support Patch which can be uncompressed on top of any previous 12.1 startCD under the main staging area. This patch replaces any previous startCDs.

What’s New in This Update?

This new startCD version 12.1.1.13 includes important fixes for Platform specific issues such as support for AIX 7.1, global inventory registration problems in AIX 6.1 Power 7 Systems and a reoccurring fix for a corrupted datafile included in the 12.1.1 media for Linux 64
